Alert), Inc., and global product development provider, GlobalLogic, Inc., have announced the expansion of their relationship to now also include application development, specifically for BroadSoft's FMC client software residing on mobile end devices.
With fixed mobile convergence (FMC) clients, enterprises are able to extend their VoIP telephony system to mobile workers handsets and provide them with access to control features including call logs and corporate directories, as well the ability to modify calling features while they are on the go—an increasingly important capability for today's expanding, and competitive mobile workforce.
GlobalLogic was chosen to provide BroadSoft with the services as it has over 250 mobile R&D engineers who have developed applications on all standard mobile platforms for hundreds of devices in use with major carriers, and specific expertise in developing mobile applications for a number of markets.
"Our partnership with GlobalLogic gives us access to world-class engineers with extensive experience in developing mobile software clients," said Robert Weidenfeller, vice president of Engineering for BroadSoft.
GlobalLogic was also chosen thanks to the success of their already established partnership with BroadSoft for software quality assurance testing and services for their VoIP applications.
Peter Harrison, CEO of GlobalLogic, also commented, "BroadSoft has seen the results we can deliver, and we welcome the opportunity to expand our R&D partnership into software development for BroadSoft's mobile VoIP solutions."
